This past year, members in the program are a diverse group of 43% Caucasian, 25% Hispanic, 19% African American, and 13% Biracial. We have served 24 children and youth this year and have recorded 1,148 hours of one to one mentoring relationships this past year with these children. This number of kids served does not count for siblings we have also provided assistance. This is a huge impact given that Caldwell Friends staff is employed part-time and the only after school mentoring program in Caldwell County.
As a result of mentoring, our evaluations show students are beginning to thrive in school, with their peer relationships, and finding purpose in our community. Out of 35 kids, 28 have successfully completed our program. That is an 80% success rate.
